The New York Dolls — The Return Of The New York Dolls

Music Review
The New York Dolls - Live From The Royal Festival Hall, 2004

For us rockers who think Morrissey is just a whiney waste of time, we have to at least give him props for reuniting these enduring icons of glam and punk, The New York Dolls. Despite the absence of the late Johnny Thunders (amply covered by Steve Conte), Dave Johansen, Syl Sylvain and Arthur Kane rise to the occasion and kick out all the classics, including "Looking For A Kiss," "Personality Crisis" and "Jet Boy," without sounding like boring old farts.

In fact, this is so good that it's easily more accessible to first-time listeners than either of their much applauded albums from the mid-’70s. A fitting tribute to not only Thunders and late drummer Jerry Nolan, but also to bass player Kane, who passed away shortly after this show was recorded.
