At a mere eight tracks, this live collection — recorded in Montreal and Toronto — is more of a sampling of The Dears' grandly catastrophic show than a complete set. Hardcore fans will be happy to hear The Dears’ 22-minute version of "Pinned Together, Falling Apart" and although new Dears listeners might be left exhausted by the shoegazing epic, the band does offer up a rousing "End Of A Hollywood Bedtime Story" and high drama in "22: The Death Of All The Romance." Best of all, this recording captures The Dears’ quieter noises — from the synths to keyboardist Natalia Yanchak's back-up vocals — that often get lost among the crashing guitars and drums. Excellently recorded,
Thank You Good Night will leave you desperately wanting an encore.
