Papa Roach — Infest
- Infest

- 1 / 5

An infestation of cockroaches would be more pleasant than having to listen to the nu metal offering from Papa Roach. Opener "Infest" rehashes guitar riffs first heard from Korn, with rapping that makes Tommy Lee sound good. It's difficult to make it through the 45-minute album without breaking out the Raid and roach motels.
The foursome would be better off changing careers to pest control instead of making music that lacks insight and creativity. Granted, songs like "Last Resort," "Broken Home" and "Dead Cell" do a great job at sounding just like everything out there at the moment. Of course this is probably the appeal of Infest.
The band has also pointed out that there is a hidden track at the end of "Thrown Away," which sort of defeats the purpose of having a hidden track. Roaches and Keith Richards are said to be the only ones to survive a nuclear holocaust, which means the settlers of the post-apocalyptic world won't have to listen to this.
