In Music And Lyrics, Hugh Grant plays a dried-up ‘80s pop star akin to the other guy from Wham! Drew Barrymore reprises her typical quirky rom-com role as Grant's songwriting and smooching partner. How did a chick who ignited flames with her mind in Firestarter back when she was nine end up to be so boring? To make the predictable premise worse, the actors have no chemistry and the film oscillates unsuccessfully between a standard rom-com and a silly pop music spoof.
