Clint Eastwood's Flags Of Our Fathers is the story of the men in the infamous photograph of the raising of the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima. Despite exceptional performances by Adam Beach and Ryan Phillippe as men touted as war heroes, the film suffers from a lack of direction in its storytelling. Influenced by producer Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, the movie feels derivative, regardless of the attention paid to historical details. Rich extras include making-of docs and fascinating real-time war footage.
