Though it treads over much of the same territory found on their 1994 best-of collection, this compilation of New Order singles actually does a better job at tracking the band's storied history. Beginning with early singles like "Ceremony" and "Everything's Gone Green," the record demonstrates how the bridge was built between Joy Division's painful demise and New Order's dance-pop rebirth. Meanwhile, disc two captures some of the best tracks from Get Ready and this year's Waiting For The Siren's Call, proving that the band are still relevant and vital. But New Order fans already own "Bizarre Love Triangle" 10 times over and the inclusion of well-worn material like this prevents Singles from being a necessity.
