Lady Sovereign's not just a vertically challenged (for the record, she's 5'1") teenaged sensation from across the pond. On this, her debut mini-album, the young Brit's gritty rap style paired with a tight lyrical flow is anything but juvenile. The playful yet edgy "Ch Ching," highlights not only her youthful exuberance, it also showcases her stellar rhyming capabilities. Also, "Random," with its call for "everyone to get random" draws you in with its cheeky lyrics and equally cheeky beat. The only knock against Lady Sovereign is that with only eight tracks, she's barely said hello before she's gone again. Just as you get into the tracks and their accompanying remixes, the album is over.
