With the opening chords of "American Idiot" and the ensuing thunderous applause from 60,000 fans it's clear that the three Green Day brats and punk rock have made it to the masses. Bullet In A Bible captures in both CD and DVD footage the biggest show in Green Day's history. The band's flawless performance at England's Milton Keynes captures all of the raw and frantic energy of a Green Day concert. Billie Joe Armstrong commands the audience to singalong and his frequent "England!" shout-outs make the crowd ravenous for more. The setlist is half American Idiot standouts, half catalogue hits and a cover of "Shout," which makes for a fun, archaic romp. The DVD portion — by Green Day music video director Samuel Bayer — also shows the band on the road and features compelling interviews. Bullet In A Bible is a testament to Green Day's politically-charged punk rock and an antidote to vapid popular music.
