Background/ Composition:
This Montreal three-piece have been steadily rising within the last year thanks to their their Arcade Fire-meets-Born Ruffians debut.
Grade: 89
Comment:
Parlovr put on a great show filled with incredible passion, foot stomps and flailing arms, all combined to their thoughtful, quirky lyrics and furious guitars.
Achievement of Rock 'n' Roll Expectations
80-100: Exceeds skill and knowledge expectations, i.e. rocked us so hard we peed our pants.
70-79: Achieves required skills and knowledge. Meets rock 'n' roll standard.
60-69: Demonstrates some skills. Approaches rock 'n' roll standard.
50-59: Demonstrates some required skills and knowledge in a limited way.
00-50: Has not demonstrated required skills or knowledge.
Learning Skills: E=Excellent, G=Good, S=Satisfactory, N=Sad Really
Oral And Visual Communication
Eye Contact: G
Pronunciation: G
Stage Presence: E
Stage Banter: E
Image: G
Appearance: G
Use Of Stage: G
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step:
The ridiculous stage banter between vocalist/guitarists Louis Jackson and Alex Cooper and the crowd was one of the best things about this show. When they weren't getting Heath Ledger confused with Val Kilmer, they were admitting to parking on roadkill. The crowd ate it up.
Musical Analysis
Level Of Participation: G

Teamwork: E
Work Habits: G
Organization: G
Audience Participation: S
Sound: E
Composition: E
Songs: E
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step:
Parlovr packed their set with admirable songs such as "Pen To The Paper" and "Hiccup" as well as a new song. Unfortunately, Cooper didn't get his keyboard to come through the monitor properly until the second last song, but his passion between the guitar, keyboard and vocals made up for it. Drummer Jeremy MacQuish was a force to be reckoned with, breaking drum sticks in half in the cloud that was his arms.
Other Skills And Areas Of Interest

Problem Solving: S

Sexiness: G
Haircut: E
Indie Rock Footwear: G
Nods To Disposible Fashion: G
Cool Equipment: N

Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step:
While they can't boast anything like cool equipment, it surely did the job. Parlovr were coordinated, energetic and full of smiles, making this show more than worthwhile for their fans.
