While Foxx's Oscar-winning performance in Ray was unpredictable, this
album is anything but. Foxx's debut disc is a wall-to-wall cliché,
spanning the R&B gamut from picking up girls at the club to what to
do afterwards. The actor-turned-singer shouldn't bare all the shame
though. He has lots of help, including Ludacris on the title track,
Snoop Dogg and The Game on "With You," Mary J. Blige on "Love Changes"
and Kanye West on "Extravaganza." Sure, he can name-drop with the best
of them, but Foxx shouldn't give up his day job. It helps if you think
of Unpredictable as a lapse in judgement and nothing more.
