Taking Back Sunday — New Again

Music Review
Taking Back Sunday's New Again

It's been three years since Taking Back Sunday's Louder Now dropped, but New Again was well worth the wait.

It's a bit of a departure from their previous work, since it's slightly harder and slightly more self-aware, but it's irresistibly catchy with the frank lyrics we've come to expect from Adam Lazzara and company.

The album certainly marks a fresh start for the Long Island rockers — New Again is the band's first release since guitarist Fred Mascherino left in 2007. He's since been replaced by Matt Fazzi.

New Again is emotionally relatable without seeming simplistic, exploring themes like betrayal, longing and living up to the expectations of others. Amid angsty tracks like "Capital M-E" and "Lonely, Lonely" are hook-laden singalongs "New Again," "Swing" and first single "Sink Into Me," making New Again the perfect summer record.
