There’s something incredibly fascinating about the invisible thread that connects punk rock with country rock. Leeroy Stagger is following in the footsteps of West Coast punkers before him who have picked up their acoustic guitars and explored the gentler side of hurtin’. Produced by Danny Michel and engineered by Tolan McNeil (Carolyn Mark, Neko Case), 21-year-old Stagger’s second solo effort is an engaging mix of acoustic, introspective numbers jumbled with some solid indie rockers like "In The Night." There is a raw, still-developing Ron Sexsmith-like appeal to Stagger’s songs. This album will give many established Canadian singer-songwriters a run.
