The Lovely Feathers disappeared from the indie rock radar rather quickly after the 2006 release of their Hind Hind Legs album, which makes Fantasy Of The Lot seem more like a rebirth than a follow-up.

The course The Lovely Feathers' music has taken since then is comparable in many ways to that of B.C.-based Mother Mother. That band's debut, Touch Up, was fast, furious and fun, but their latest album, O My Heart, aimed for something more mature and well-rounded.

Likewise, it's immediately evident The Lovely Feathers have done some growing up over the last three years. There's still plenty of fun to be found in the lyrics, like the stomping chorus to "Long Walks" — "When we go on long walks, we go on very long walks!" — but overall, you get the feeling that these five lads are content to take their time and flush out every song's nuances.

The result is focused yet playful college rock that would fit perfectly into the chase sequences of a Scooby Doo episode.
