Interpol, New York’s snappily-dressed, post-punk heroes, retain their devastatingly visceral assault, but display a new wave sheen that provides a welcomed sense of faith, love and devotion to contrast their blanket of darkness. The band are still having an affair with ‘80s U.K. rock, but there’s a glowing heart of romanticism inside Paul Banks’ alien baritone which melodically connects the dots to their grim-reaping Curiosa tour mates The Cure. The organ-backed hymnal offering, "Next Exit," leads off this newfound collection of hope, while "A Time To Be So Small" perfectly captures the grave love of Antics. A thrilling set of songs for violently passionate urban psychos.
