- 4 / 5

Feeling the pressure to outdo the incensed, exciting power of Jane Doe, Converge’s best record to date, the band have blown everything out of the water. Listening to even three seconds of You Fail Me, it’s obvious that these guys are only out for one thing — blood. Buckets of it. But like the methodical sociopaths they are, Converge aren’t using the same knife over and over again. They vary up the torture tactics via new school hardcore, the furious primal bombast of thrash metal and every barbed edge in-between. Relentlessly heavy, sonically perfect and thick to the point of shock, the hardcore bar has officially been raised to astronomical heights.
