Rob Zombie — Past, Present & Future

Music Review
Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future

There’s something about Rob Zombie and his cartoonish Universal Monsters image that is indelibly cool as this retrospective proves. Past, Present & Future is packed: it’s got the White Zombie "debut" hit "Thunderkiss ’65" and some Astro-Creep tunes; it celebrates his soundtrack cuts and collaborative efforts with Alice Cooper, Lionel Richie and Howard Stern, too. Slipping into his electronica-influenced solo material, this comprehensive (omitting the early Caroline years for some reason) collection also features tons of amusing photos, not-shitty unreleased songs and a full compilation of videos to date.

Sadly though, Past, Present & Future does leave this unnerving feeling that the days of truly great Zombie material are growing fewer and fewer. Greatest hits albums usually bring about that sentiment: whatever. Now we have a little Rob Zombie mixed CD where we don’t have to skip the "Land Of Milk And Honey" wank to get to the good stuff.
