Lovers of the pop-punk genre can now celebrate as Canada's very own Blink-182 have fired off their latest CD. And while I desperately want to like it, I have this violent disdain for palatable "punk." Personally, the most intelligent thing about this album is the John Irving-inspired album title. Less-than-inspired lyrics, clean vocals and forgettable guitar riffs make this CD a lacklustre contribution to its genre. Bad enough that this CD was comparable to Blink-182, but it just about made my skin crawl inside out when I heard strains of Eve 6.
Horrors! I almost blush to think this is punk. Notable tracks include "For The Moment" and "Ex-Shuffle," which scream volumes for the band's potential to rock in large quantities. For now, it's mildly forgettable and should pull in enough bucks to keep their hair erect for a while.
