Australian band Jet’s first full-length is being released to lots of hype. Get Born dabbles slightly in the garage rock sound, but leans heavily on smoother melodies and even ballads. That’s where Jet are in their element. Songs like the rocker "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" or "Rollover DJ" (which slams DJ culture hard and fast), prove that Jet can make passionate and fun rock ‘n’ roll. The formula doesn’t work for the entire record, though, and in the end you’re left with an album that’s only half-likable.
