This space could be used to berate Rancid for jumping the Epiship for a major, but instead I’ll use it to berate ‘em for getting all sissy after their 2000 hardcore-influenced self-titled effort was treated like a fart in church. It was one of their best, but no-one understood it, so instead of staying the course they’ve stepped back into the jingle-jangle non-appeal of Life Won’t Wait. Great... THAT was an album that made you think "punk" was a term reserved only for unruly kids that snap gum in class. The gospel influence is neat and the songs are mildly catchy, but, overall, Indestructible is mid-tempo, slightly dirty punk that sounds defeated. It lacks the anger and hunger of their previous releases, leaving one to wonder if Rancid have finally become complacent.
