Green Go — Borders

The debut album from Guelph, Ont. party animals Green Go is a healthy addition to the evolving dance rock scene across Canada.

The tunes on Borders will sound familiar to anyone who's heard Shout Out Out Out Out, Datarock, Woodhands or CSS, but that familiarity will in no way stop your white-as-can-be dance moves (probably in your room).

New drummer Adam Scott provides complex beats on each track, while every dance band's best friend, the synthesizer, is dominant. Borders has a cut-and-paste feel, but it's not a fault. Standout tracks "Put Your Specs On Boy," "Cash Money Gremlins," "Ghosts Of The Future" and "Fool Me Once" are tightly wound and pieced together well.

Borders, which was was recorded and mixed by Ryan Mills, is like a crayon box full of wacky colours mixed with sweat, confetti and spilt drinks. It's also one hell of a dance experience.
