Sense Field’s second for Nettwerk is as weightless as arice cake; there’s really nothing to Living Outside. This release hovers somewhere between Nine Days, Nickelback and cheezeball ‘80s acts like Mister Mister. The second you think they’re gonna rock it up a bit you’re thwarted by the band’s Coldplay-esqe piano flourishes. Songs like "Haunted" and "Feel What You Feel" are a bore and stumble like a newborn horse that never really gets its legs. It’s the all out cheddar factor that is irritating about Sense Field, leaving you with the impression that they could be really good if they weren’t so freakin’ middle-ground.
