On his follow-up to 2001’s Start Breaking My Heart, Toronto-based electronic producer Dan Snaith, otherwise known as Manitoba, continues to incorporate experimental elements while maintaining a strict focus on melody. Drawing on the sounds of ‘60s psychedelia, folk and indie rock, Snaith creates wonderfully textured narratives reminiscent of the U.K.’s Lemon Jelly. From the beguiling medieval melody of "Twins" to the irresistible mantra, "again, under/over, wonder" of "Jacknuggeted," there are plenty of strange and wonderful sounds to keep ears entertained. The prairies have never sounded so good.
