This Is A Standoff — Be Disappointed
- Be Disappointed
- Independent/Sonic Unyon
- 4 / 5

This sophomore release couldn't have been more inappropriately named. The follow-up to 2007's Be Excited enthusiastically harnesses ghosts of bands past.
Vocalist/guitarist Steve Rawles and drummer Graham Churchill continue to embrace their former Belvedere positions as they incorporate insane drums and screaming guitars into This Is A Standoff's tornado of fury. Be Disappointed rocks like a less reprimanding Propaghandi album with its political and social lyrics, complex technical guitar lines and sheer punk rock compassion from opener "The Light is Still On In Broadmoor" to closing track "Trails Of White."
Melody is also a crucial constructional element in this album, as it veers into catchier territory on "Days Go By" and "Go With Me," which seem more like Rise Against than No Use For A Name.
Despite the album title, there's nothing disappointing about a group so chock-full of talent and passion.
