A Dark Side Of The Moon for Generation X.
Sounding like an extended version of the Beatles "Revolution 9," Kid A's got all the bleeps, buzzes, fade-ins and outs and haunting vocals that won't make any bloody sense unless you've just smoked some of that wacky tobacky. Give Radiohead some admirable points for releasing a highly-anticipated album as an experimental piece. Any other band would've released an album that matched or surpassed the quality of their previous disc, but Radiohead chose to go the other route: make an album THEY wanted to make and not care about what anyone else thought about it. There aren't any super radio singles here, but it's one of those conceptual pieces that's an overall "experience." Don't play it as you're driving or cleaning your room, you won't pay any attention to the detail. Light a candle, dim the lights and put your headphones on.
