Live Review
- March 12, 2009
- Toronto, ON
- Gladstone Hotel
- 4.5 / 5

Background/Composition:
How is it at all possible that The Rural Alberta Advantage remain unsigned? With a sound akin to Neutral Milk Hotel's take on Americana, frontman Nils Edenloff is one of the most genuinely passionate songwriters and performers in the city. Backed by Amy Cole and Paul Banwatt (Woodhands), the RAA's Hometowns is packed with some of the tightest, catchiest songs of last year... and somehow, no one really knows it. And they didn't even have to suck up to become the teacher's pet.
Grade: 93
Comment:
Playing after Slim Twig is never really advisable, but the RAA didn't flinch at all. The most impressive thing about this band is that they keep getting better.
