In 1996, EMI flew me to Minneapolis, Minnesota to talk to Prince and attend the "party of the year" at his Paisley Park mansion and studio complex. When I arrived, I found out that I could only ask the diminutive funk-rocker one question. As for the party, the food really sucked and they weren't serving any booze. This was hardly a party as far as I was concerned, so I walked out, hoping to find a variety store or a gas station where I could at least pick up a six-pack. But Paisley Park was in the middle of nowhere and there was nothing but barren land around me. At least when I went back inside, Prince and his band played an amazing set that was much more entertaining than the songs on 3121.
