Alexisonfire may be spearheading the screamo wave, but their secret weapon is melody man Dallas Green. His solo acoustic project couldn't be farther from AOF's hardcore stylings, but that's what makes Green such an interesting songwriter. He is equally adept at crafting captivating acoustic ballads as he is punk anthems and the intimacy of these songs leaves a bigger impact than the heaviest Alexis rockers. Rarely anything more than a few strummed chords and a melody, the charm of Sometimes is in its simplicity, though that can also be its downfall. By the halfway point, you'll wonder if it will ever amount to anything more and even with some keys and strings strewn about, it won't. A fine, yet flawed display of budding talent.
