The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus — Lonely Road
- Lonely Road
- Virgin/EMI
- 3 / 5

The first time I saw The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was from the side of the stage at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey. I only knew their anti-violence hit track "Face Down," but was immediately won over by the intensity of their performance and love of their art.
Lonely Road, their third full-length album, proves this Florida band still have this appeal — preachiness included. While singer Ronnie Winter has spoken out about domestic abuse and other heavy issues, this record lends itself more to religion. Songs like "Godspeed" and "You Better Pray" strongly reference purity and faith. "Believe" is the strongest contender on the album and is guaranteed to rake in sales.
The album's packed with chunky leads and catchy melodies that stay true to their pop-rock roots, but it lacks the overall heart from that Jersey performance. RJA fans won't be disappointed with this album, but I doubt it will win them many new admirers.
