Lee Reed — Introductory Offer

Lee Reed's Introductory Offer

Introductory Offer is the debut EP from Hamilton MC Lee Reed. He was formerly the man behind the mic for Warsawpack and Peoples Republic, and his solo material boasts more of the intelligent, razor-tight rhymes that were the cornerstones for his previous well-respected groups.

Reed's never been one to shy from voicing his disdain for the world's never-ending supply of social injustices, and infectious opener "Viral Rock" lays out the top offenders on Reed's shit list over a funky groove peppered with jazzy horns.

The soulful "Basic Cable" features excellent backing vocals from Sara Green and rallies against the brainwashing caused by "weapons of the mass distraction" before it references some of the country's best-known television news anchors ("These dudes have been telling you lies"). A short sample of a KRS-One speech on wealth distribution sets the tone for the awesome "Feast Or Famine," while "River Styx" sees Reed briefly abandoning his way-too-cool delivery to croon the cut's chorus.

This is hip and provoking, and it's one introductory offer that will definitely leave you wanting more.
