Jason Bajada — Loveshit
- Loveshit
- MapleMusic/Universal
- 4 / 5

What Jason Bajada perhaps lacks in overall aggression, the Montreal-based singer/songwriter makes up for in mood and sentiment, as each of the 10 tracks on Loveshit are teeming with quiet wistfulness and longing.
Producers Les Troublemakers have taken Bajada's musings about love and largely turned them on their heads. The subtle yet bouncy percussion, coupled with charming electric guitar work, really bring the best out of each piece. "Hard Not To Quit" frolicks with the careless sensibilities of a more jovial Elliott Smith cut.
Bajada does just enough to keep listeners expecting typical coffee shop ruminations on their toes. This includes channelling the anglo-blues of Gomez on "Tired Of Talking" and including a bare-bones version of Wolf Parade's "You Are A Runner And I Am My Father's Son" as the finale.
