Opting to junk all of that late-'90s fluff for a more "extreme" edge (albeit not as extreme as say, Raise Your Fist And Yell), Cooper has returned with a strong album flowing with grinding distortion and heavy beats. Booming heavy but not fast, Brutal Planet is a welcome change from his misguided releases of the last decade, marred only by too much bible-thumping for anybody's good.
