It's been 10 years in the making, but Paul McCartney and Youth have finally released the third installment of The Fireman series. The previous two albums thrived on ambience and electronica, but the songs went unnoticed in the charts and are now out of print. Electric Arguments, named after the poem "Kansas City To St. Louis" by Allen Ginsberg, is decidedly more conventional. McCartney sings on all the tracks, which was a last minute decision initiated by Youth, and creates a new addition to The Fireman's style. The lyrics are entirely ad-libbed, yet strikingly beautiful. Songs like "Sing The Changes" are purely dance-inspired, whereas such tracks as "Is This Love?" are more calming and thought-provoking. Electric Arguments was recorded in 13 days over the span of a year, but the combined talents of these two greats will undoubtedly make this record timeless.
