Good Charlotte clearly never got the memo that if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Greatest Remixes is a poor attempt at converting vintage GC songs into dancefloor filler. They try to sound bad-ass by enlisting B-list rappers to curse and drop the N-bomb, but the end result is somewhere between pathetic and annoying. I used to listen to Good Charlotte back in high school when they wouldn't try this crap. At least Metro Station's cover of "Dance Floor Anthem (I Don't Want To Be In Love)" is solid, standing out as a brief break from all the unnecessary noise. The worst part is the fake record scratching found on Greatest Remixes, an addition that comes at the expense of passion and heart. Before Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and brass knuckles, GC consisted of a handful of Maryland boys who sang to combat their pain. Greatest Remixes suggests they've forgotten where they came from and possibly even forgotten who they are.
