You've got to give Kevin Ogilvie a lot of credit for sticking true to his Nivek Ogre alter-ego for almost 30 years. His latest project, a solo full-length released under the OhGr moniker, plays out like a nightmarish version of Dark Side Of The Moon. Devils In My Details is basically a single musical composition that alternates between loud, textured guitars, spoken-word clips, dialogue samples and spooky atmospherics. In short, this sounds like a Skinny Puppy album. There isn't much in the way of actual singing on Devils, but it's kinda cool to see a seamless transition between Ogre's industrial, metal, hip-hop and cinematic influences all boiled down into a single album and, at times, a single track. This is highly recommended to fans of first-person shooting video games and Tim Burton and Danny Elfman's creepier moments.
