The Bicycles haven't grown up on their latest indie pop epic and thank God for that! They're still a colourful, bratty collective of musicians with dreams, imaginations, hope and angelic, playful voices. And they still have a love for short, sweet songs that could soundtrack the loveliest of fall days or the sunniest of summer afternoons. With horns, strings, harmonies and soulful guitar lines, Oh No, It's Love bravely explores country ("I'll Wait For You," "Stop Calling Me Baby"), high energy '60s-influenced rock 'n' rollers (most tracks), easy-rock metal-pop ("Sweet Petite") and some more personal subject matter and themes, which is a welcome touch of depth to The Bicycles' often shiny, happy demeanor. Though there are moments of thrashiness, The Bs have also tightened things up a bit and this helps your ears and brain straddle the foursome's wonderful cartoon rock universe.
