Dearly Beloved are the new project from Rob Higgins (ex-Change Of Heart, Rocket Science and Tristan Psionic) featuring fellow Can-rocker (and ex-Danko Jones drummer) Damon Richardson on guitar. The band combine the grit of old-school punk, the guitars of the new rock revival and a touch of The Velvet Underground, rounded out by a pair of sickly-sweet female harmonies. Though You Are The Jaguar hits familiar ground on more than a few occasions, it definitely offers a lot of promise as to what Dearly Beloved are capable of, while providing enough character to stand on it's own as a worthy addition to the indie scenester's collection.
