Oh, Bicycles, how delightful you are! You make a girl want to throw on her go-go boots and dance the Mashed Potato. Indeed, these two-wheel enthusiasts have put together an addictive collection of bubblegum pop sounds that recall The Monkees, The Archies, and even a bit of the very early Beatles catalogue. Replete with catchy choruses and harmonies ("I Know We Have To Be Apart"), and slower dirges with mournful trumpet work ("Ghost Town"), The Bicycles have hit upon a certain pop nostalgia that's currently permeating the indie scene. Mixed by Jose Contreras (By Divine Right) and featuring backing vocals from the likes of Gentleman Reg, John Southworth and members of The Golden Dogs and The Hidden Cameras, The Good The Bad And The Cuddly has a full-fleshed collective feel.
