Austrian Death Machine — Total Brutal

As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis is obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger. So obsessed that he wrote an entire album based on lines from Schwarzenegger's movies. Lambesis recorded the album, which features guest appearances from the likes of Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz, as a tribute to one of his favourite actors. The result is an album filled with awesome death metal songs with titles like "I Am A Cybernetic Organism, Living Tissue Over (Metal) Endoskeleton," "Who Is Your Daddy, And What Does He Do?" "If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It" and "You Have Just Been Erased," all Arnie lines. That's the case with the lyrics, too. I can't even describe how truly funny it is to hear Lambesis scream, "You have just been erased!" and "Screw you! Screw you! Screw you, Benny!" over top of death metal growls. In addition, there are many hilarious interludes where "Arnie" converses with Lambesis about just how "brooootal" the songs are. While this isn't a groundbreaking album in any sense of the word, it's absolutely hilarious, and if you enjoy metal and a good laugh, you'll likely really dig this one. This is better than 98 per cent of the "serious" metal out there. I hope this isn't a one-off.
