You can tell some bands are going to be great just by looking at their picture. Bad Flirt are one such group. There are a number of Canadian comparisons that come to mind, like The Weekend and Vancougar, but perhaps the closest would place these Montrealers akin to Winnipeg's Paper Moon, albeit with a much harder edge and just the right amount of throbbing synths. A lot of bands are catching on to the fact that the best pop records are usually around 40 minutes long and Bad Flirt wisely keep things at a curt 38. The only obvious disappointment is found near Virgin Talk's end, where the three songs before the closer are markedly slower than the first eight. Had Virgin Talk come out in July, we might have been tempted to dub it the soundtrack for the summer.
