Blonde Redhead @ Pop Montreal 2002
ChartAttack staff swarmed the Pop Montreal festival last weekend. Here are some of the highlights:
Talk about total underestimation. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how it was Blonde Redhead could be headlining the large-ish Club Soda on a Saturday night, the marquee event of the Pop Montreal fest. Then I saw them. Although I can't say I loved BR, they were a truly perfect fit for the inaugural fest. Multi-lingual, veering from poppy to inaccessibly noisy and casually chic, the Redhead were a microcosm of the entire weekend. One point: more girl, less boy.
