Martina Sorbara @ Pop Montreal 2002

Live Review
Martina Sorbara
ChartAttack staff swarmed the Pop Montreal festival last weekend. Here are some of the highlights:

Any mishmash of naughty and nice can be slightly amusing. Just ask Britney. But when you mix it with talent and genuine charisma, you don't just get amusement, you get something irresistible. In other words, you get Martina Sorbara. Moving seamlessly from sweetly melodic ("Claudia") to sultry ("Eggs Over Easy"), intertwining cute, funny stage banter — delivered in an equally cute voice — with the playfully devilish assurance of the deeper, velvety-voiced songs about dirty men and getting boys to buy you drinks, Sorbara had the crowd at La Sala Rossa (from the folksy girls in front of me to the dirty old man beside me) rapt with attention.
