I'm not exactly sure why I didn't get around to listening to Yellow House until near the end of the year, but I'm glad I got around to it. It's not hard to understand why the record geeks are freaking out about Grizzly Bear — they sound exactly like Olivia Tremor Control and Circulatory System, tempered by Animal Collective's vocal atmospherics. In other words, it's a hipster's wet dream. Listening to the record feels like walking around a mansion in a Tim Burton film. It's an unnerving experience, one where you never know what's around the corner. But each turn promises something worthy of your time. Grizzly Bear don't waste even a second in the Yellow House.
