The folks at
Dine Alone seem to have a fine ear for punk talent, with both Cancer
Bats and Johnny Truant exploding from the label this year. Attack In
Black don't rock quite as hard as some of their labelmates, but they
make up for it by being catchy as hell. Their debut EP suggests the
band are unafraid to travel outside the confines of punk via indie
rock, and each of the four tracks has its own unique sound. The opening
build-up of "Broken Things" brings to mind the Constantines by way of
The Junction, whereas the sunny but aggressive "Cut And Run" is
reminiscent of post-hardcore bands Rival Schools and Hot Water Music.
Look for Attack In Black to make waves in the near future.
