Tales
Of The Rat Fink director Ron Mann is from Toronto, but he didn't just
choose The Sadies to do the music for his film because they are too.
The quartet were chosen because there isn't another band in existence
who could capture the spirit of the film's subject, American artist and
car customizer Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, more perfectly. These 26
instrumentals (all named after live music clubs, as best as I can tell)
clock in at just 30 minutes, but it's a great way to spend
half-an-hour. If you're a fan of The Sadies, particularly their earlier
work, you'll love this record. If you're not yet sold on the band, but
have enjoyed surf, rock 'n' roll or twangy country music at any point
in your life, hop in and take a joyride with The Rat Fink. They won't
steer you wrong.
