Like
so many songwriters, Amon Amarth vocalist Johan Hegg uses his personal
experiences as the inspiration for his songs. However, Hegg takes those
experiences and shapes them into epic Viking tales of battle, sailing
the harsh seas, conquering new land and braving bitter arctic elements.
If you think that sounds cool, you're absolutely correct. On "Valhall
Awaits Me," Hegg roars, "Sword in my hand/Axe on my side/Bear skin on
my back/Wolf jaw on my head/Valhall awaits me when I'm dead." For six
records now, Amon Amarth have slowly won over fans around the world
with their brand of Viking-infused Nordic black metal. Join them now or
face the unforgiving cold steel of their swords as they torch, plunder
and rape your village.
