There aren't many bands
who can make the classic punk style sound vital in 2007, but Brutal
Knights make it sound brand new. Of course, they're probably too wasted
to even realize that they've made an album that epitomizes punk rock,
and that "We don't give a fuck" attitude is integral to Feast Of
Shame's success. Fronted by Toronto funnyman Nick Flanagan, the Knights
have crafted 14 one-minute songs that skewer everything from touring to
the information age. Flanagan's slogans are effective in their inanity
and would almost work on a satirical level if they weren't so overtly
knuckle-headed, the best of all being "Government is asshole!" on the
track of the same name. Feast Of Shame does everything a punk rock
album needs to do, and best of all, it's all over in under 20 minutes.
