Movies always have wonderful things to teach us, and Normal is no exception. This Canadian drama tells the tale of several strangers whose lives become interwoven through the death of a high school student. Emotional but carefully cautious in traditional Canadian film fashion, the movie takes place two years after a young boy's death.
Here's what we can learn from Normal:
1. When a child is killed, a mother will grieve until she goes apeshit.
2. Handsome young students fresh out of juvie are not to be trusted with their hot stepmothers.
3. Kevin Zegers will be Canada's next major pretty boy export. . . or he'll just appear in every movie made in the next couple of years.
4. Men have barbecue envy.
5. Cute boys with autism will steal every scene.
6. Profs always sleep with attractive students.
7. Mothers always love their popular, basketball star sons more than their other children.
8. In films with several intermingling plots, the most charming and compelling ones are often the least visited.
