Madonna has reinvented herself again on Hard Candy, becoming a new and more electronic version of her former self. The album features some of the most popular acts in music today, including Justin Timberlake and Kanye West and working with producers Timberland, Timberlake, The Neptunes and Danja has helped her create an updated sound to adjust to the times. Hard Candy is a lyrically metaphorical album, which can be somewhat scary when an almost 50-year-old mother of three tells listeners to visit her "Candy Shop." Lead single "4 Minutes" features Timberlake — who co-wrote the majority of the songs with Madonna — more or less singing the bulk of the lyrics. It'll be a club favourite with its singalong chorus and undeniable dance beat. There's enough disco throwback to keep longtime fans happy, but Madonna's musical choices should also do well to maintain her currency and introduce her to new fans.
