Cut Copy — In Ghost Colours
- In Ghost Colours
- Modular
- 4 / 5

Cut Copy are one of many bands today trying to keep the full album experience alive. If all those single-song-buying-buffoons got to hear In Ghost Colours, they would most definitely come back from the dark side. Melding a brave new world of rock, electronics and space age dreamscapes, In Ghost Colours steers away from the '80s disco and techno influences of the group's dynamite Bright Like Neon Love debut and takes a sharp left into Cut Copy town. CC own this town. There's nowhere like it, and it boasts equal parts attitude and carefree joy. The album's middle section offers a full blast of rock guitars anchored by the swirling beauty of "So Haunted" and the Pulp-like "Unforgettable Season." The trio haven't lost their love for dance music, though. Synthy interludes bookend the rock segment, sandwiching the album with bass-heavy, symphonic dance diamonds. Cut Copy have etched out their own sound with In Ghost Colours. Just when you think you know what a song will do, rainbow jets of flashing Roland genius blast off to send you on a wildly different adventure.
