- Mister Lonely: Music From A Film By Harmony Korine
- Drag City
- 3 / 5

The soundtrack to Mister Lonely, the latest film from love-him-or-hate-him American director Harmony Korine (Kids, Gummo), is a fittingly eclectic mix of ambient aural soundscapes and dramatic mood pieces scored in roughly equal parts by Spiritualized frontman J. Spaceman (a.k.a. Jason Pierce) and now-defunct avant experimenters Sun City Girls. It's not really a collection of songs so much as a series of accompaniment pieces that no doubt mirror the many moods of the film. Don't be misled into thinking this will satiate your appetite for new Spiritualized material ahead of the much-anticipated release, Songs In A&E. The melancholic string outro on "Paris Beach" is about as close as Pierce comes to his regular symphonic sounds here. Mister Lonely will also not serve as that fulfilling final piece in your Sun City Girls collection. Instead, take it for what it is: a glimpse into another side of these musicians' expansive musical abilities, and one that bears considerable fruit.
